Foster Care

As of January 2011, there were 6,723 youth in foster care in the state of Tennessee. You have the opportunity to be the difference for one of these families. Most of the youth we care for have been removed from their homes due to circumstances that were out of their control: abuse, neglect, or even abandonment. Florence Crittenton's Foster Families have the advantage of opening up their lives and homes to youth in need. When possible, we aim to reunite these children with their birth families. Crittenton Foster Care seeks to not only impact the life of a child, but also the family and community in which they belong.

Becoming a Crittenton Foster Family

FCA's Foster Families seek to provide a loving and nurturing environment for youth in need. Foster parents are our HEROs. They can't fly or become invisible, but they have the ability to love a child right where they are. Prospective foster parents must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered to foster with Crittenton Foster Care:

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Financially able to meet his/her needs
  • Be able to nurture and love children
  • Pass criminal background checks
  • Be in good physical health
  • Learn & Apply provided trainings

Foster Parents are not required to be perfect, and they also know they are not required to do it on their own. Crittenton Foster Care has a wonderful team to assist with consistent and constant support.

PATH (Parents as tender Healers) Orientation

Call 865-602-2919 for the dates and times.  Orientation is the first step to becoming a Foster Parent - Please join us.

Foster Parents open their homes and provide a temporary safe haven for children.  No matter their age, all youth in foster care need a meaningful connection to at least one caring adult who becomes a supportive and lasting presence in their lives.  Without families or stable relationships, too many of these formally neglected and/or abused children and teens will end up facing life’s challenges all alone. Crittenton Foster Care seeks to not only impact the life of a child, but also the family and community in which they belong.

Crittenton Foster Care is always searching for more families who will open their hearts and homes to children in need.
