Crittenton Family Foster Care Foster care is the next step in building a continuum of services that allows FCA to impact the lives of adolescents in our care and sustain that impact throughout the length of custody and beyond. Our goal is to teach our clients an ability to bond with an appropriate role model and to provide an environment that encourages this relationship. It is our hope these bonds will be lasting and supportive even as the adolescent becomes an adult. Our program is unique because we work with pregnant and parenting teens in a family foster home environment, as well as teens needing a therapeutic foster care home. Foster care parents will educate, encourage and role model appropriate parenting skills to teen parents.

Single parent families and two-parent families interested in being part of the Crittenton family will go through ten weeks of "Parents As Tender Healers" (P.A.T.H.) training. During this training, the FCA staff will have the opportunity to get to know the families. A home study and complete background check follows to ensure a safe and healthy environment. The family will then receive certification as an FCA foster care family. Once a match with a child is made, the child will be placed in the foster home. Case management services will be provided to the child and family to ensure that all policy and procedures are being followed and that the child is flourishing. |
